Join us for a “frank” discussion about being “frank” with children around the topics of death and dying. This session will consider loss and grief from the perspective of the needs of grieving children. Young people have different needs to adults when they experience loss. Adults who provide care and support need to be sensitive to these unique needs. Specifically aimed for parents/caregivers of primary school aged children.
Janet Myers-Creed with over 32 years experience in palliative care and bereavement support will explore the theories around best practices in assisting children to cope with the losses. Being open, available, genuine and showing an empathy and concern are Janet’s core values both professionally and personally.
